Question 1

Chatbots are integrated into social networks like Facebook; therefore, they are used to chat. Soma advantages of chatting using chatbots are; they offer immediate feedback. Chattin== using chatbots gives us automatic responses, thus saving time. Chatbots are available 24/7, and this makes them reliable while chatting with them. You can chat with them either during the day or at night because they are readily available. Some people chatbots are inferior because they lack emotions. They are too mechanical, and they use pre-programmed conversation; they flow the conversation according to what they have been trained. Thus, they are unable to recognize human emotions when chatting.     So this makes them an inferior tool for chatting because they do not have feelings; lack of emotions prevents chatbots from interacting with humans effectively.

Question 2

Some of the financial benefits of using chatbots are they save money; using chatbots ate cheaper than recruiting workers. Chatbots provide 24/7 services because they do not get tired. They offer quality services that promote customer satisfaction. This is because they are always available.  They provide instant responses to customers; customers have answered all sales questions, which helps increase business profits. Chatbots increase customer base because they reach out to more customers, thus improving the company’s sales.

IBM Watson focuses on providing solutions to its enterprise customers. IBM targeted to reach a billion customers by delivering AI solutions to the vast range of industries and organizations they serve. IBM’s strategy of getting a billion customers is to help enterprise customers, applying AI to sectors where it can augment human intelligence to increase efficiency and minimize costs, allowing clients to have control and ownership of their data.  The implications of IBM Watson are improved healthcare and financial services (Russo-Spena et al., 2019).

Question 1

Chatbots in Facebook and Wechat are used to serve the same purpose. They both allow users to have close contact with their friends, post video and pictures, send messages, make a video or audio calls or share exciting stories and articles. However, there are some critical differences between chatbots in Facebook and WeChat. On WeChat’s wall, one can only see what your friends are sharing. one cannot see what other people share if they are not your friends.  While using WeChat, one can add people if you know their user ID or phone number, unlike in Facebook, where you are given suggestions of friends you wish to add. Chatbots in Facebook can go live streaming while this is impossible with WeChat. Chatbots in Facebook have more functionalities because they can take 360-degree pictures and videos to go live, unlike chatbots in WeChat.

Question 12

Demetria patients suffer from memory loss. Chatbots are playing a significant role in assisting Demetria patients. Chatbots help Demetria patients manage their daily activities by;  sending messages to the patient’s caregiver every time the patient goes beyond the designated boundaries. Chatbots have a geo-fence feature that automatically sends a notification to the patient’s family member when the patient goes out of the set boundary. Chatbots are used to link the patient’s specific location using latitudes and longitudes. This helps to quickly locate the patients if they go missing. Chatbot has a voice-to-text feature that allows the patients to acknowledge and recognize their close friends’ and relatives’ voices. Chatbots helps the patients locate their home using a dynamic marker that points towards the patient’s home. Chatbots have a unique feature that detects location. In case of extreme noise, chatbots use facial recognition as a backup feature when the app fails. Facial recognition helps the patients to remember their past (Varshini et al., 2020).

Question 16

Singapore’s government is partnering with Microsoft to develop chatbots to create a smart nation initiative. They are planning to integrate natural-language and ‘conversational computing’ capabilities in the provision of government e-services. Singapore’s government plans to use AI technologies to interact with the citizens more efficiently. The new initiative is expected to use “Microsoft’s conversations as a platform pitch” to discover more and new opportunities that will enable the government to provide its services more efficiently and effectively using ‘conversational computing.’  The Infocomm-Development -Authority of Singapore and Microsoft will create chatbots that will improve the provision of government services to the general public. They will intelligence software equipment that will assimilate human behaviors to interact with citizens in a friendly way (Desouza et al., 2020).

Question 1

Content of regular IT must be requested; one must enquire through the web service to acquire the content. However, in the Internet of Things, content is developed using technology. An alert is made when the situation of interest is identified. Also, in regular internet, connectivity is created through the physical links in web pages, while in IoT, data is collected and analyzed for a situation is needed to be detected.

Question 2

Autonomous cars will have an impact on people’s living arrangements. They influence where people will choose to live. People can choose to live far away from workplaces with an autonomous car without worrying about the time spent driving to work. The elderly, sick, and disabled will live independently because they can use the self-driving car to move around with the need to have a personal driver. Accidents will reduce, thus saving people’s lives; self-driving cars are likely to cause fewer accidents than human-driven vehicles.

A smart home should have bots; bots are used to interact with home appliances in humans’ absence. They communicate with home appliances through the internet or a local network internet.  therefore, bots can operate intelligent devices in the smart home.

Internet of Things is recognized as disruptive technology because of its impacts on our lives, and it has generated new business opportunities. It has created modern models for making money and replaced the old business models. It has disrupted businesses’ normal operations through automation, data collection, and analysis; it has also optimized workflows and processes.

AT & T is determined to help cities to make them more efficient and safer.  They are working together with other industry leaders and IoT experts to deliver solutions to the cities’ problems.  AT & T has collaborated with Cisco to offer an accurate- time view of all city activities. It collects and analyzes vast amounts of data generated from different civic departments; this creates visibility, enabling leaders to make faster and informed decisions, deploying resources strategically, responding to crises timely, and saving on costs.

AT & T and Cisco are researching opportunities to integrate Cisco Kinetic for cities platforms to assist the cities in extracting, computing, and moving data from connected devices to IoT applications to offer efficient services.  AT & T aims to bridge the differences between the connected devices, processes, and people to streamline operations, create new revenue sources, and allow leaders to be more responsive to citizen needs (Korngold et al., 2017).

IoT collects a massive amount of data, and businesses are using this functionality to enhance customer satisfaction. The enormous amount of data collected using IoT contains customers purchasing behaviors. With IoT data is possible to assess customer’s attitude and actions. Customer data collected helps the firm be aware of its tastes and preferences; this makes them adjust accordingly to meet customers’ desires. They can design and pack the products in a way that will attract more customers. They use data collected to produce quality products that satisfy customers’ demands. IoT data is used to personalize marketing. Data collected using IoT technologies assist B2B business in designing better customer engagement tactics. For instance, the data tell the marketers where more customers are located and how they respond to their products or services. This information will assist in improving their products and service to enhance customer satisfaction (Yerpude & Singhal, 2018).

Sophia the robot can sustain eye contact, recognize faces and individuals, process speech, and converse using the natural language subsystem. In 2018, Sophia was advanced with legs, and she was able to walk. She has a sense of humor, and she can express her feelings when angry or happy (Retto, 2017).
