As the VP of the company and the person in charge of the hiring process, I think that the situation presents an ethical dilemma since there is a conflict between hiring a person who engages in unethical behaviour and not hiring a highly qualified staff who can be a good fit for the organization. In considering either of the hiring outcomes, both outcomes appear wrong, and hence the dilemma. Ghostwriting for academic students is often considered unethical behavior because it amounts to plagiarism or the use of unoriginal content, which misrepresents the actual capabilities of a student.
