Political art focuses and portrays information about politics to help the public easily understand the roles and features of their leaders based on political context (Maria, 2021). The art also acts as a ruling mechanism that assists the public in understanding the truth and mission of their leaders. For instance, the below figure depicts the political art of president Barrack Obama having an icon of political hope.

The above political hope poster was designed a couple of years to act as a grassroots for Obama’s political strategies and delivery to the public. It was made by a graphic designer known as Shepard Fairey, who encompassed the image with a political statement of hope to the American people. The poster was also co0nsidered as an aim for influencing effective political propaganda. However, after the artist inscribed it, this political piece was documented to provide the political stands of the people, which in turn made them realize their hopes. After many years, it became a helpful document on the political positions of the people and their unrealized hopes. This image displays the counter-strategy of President Obama to help the USA residents believe in his political affiliations and provisions, which aims to restore hope and progress for the betterment of the people’s living standards and economic prosperity. Conversely, it could be more instilling if the designer would have also opted to add on a more political phrase such as hope for change.
Discussion question #2: The United States Civil Liberties
Based on the United States criminal justice setting, it is undeniable that the system has influenced the use of the sixth amendment. This amendment provides the criminal defendant’s steady services, such as rights to a public trial and impartial jury (Frontline, 2004). Identically, the amendment demands that the citizens are accorded the rights of knowing of the charges imposed on the accusers or the accused one. However, this act has been criticized due to unfair proceedings and judgment from the lawyers and legal bodies. For instance, the amendment provides that the defendant is entitled to retain his counsel of choice. However, it is unfortunate that the right to choose a certain attorney is not guaranteed. Legal scholars have termed this amendment as being a myth in today’s world, especially during conflict resolution scenarios. This is because people are not being imposed to fair ruling and judgment, for instance, the compromised loyalty based on certain prospects might be immediate, but the court at times denies defendants selection.
This prospect and the sixth amendment provision challenge the people’s assumptions and standards about their rights as Americans. This is because despite the act having clear directives, it identifiable that during trials such as a jury, justice is not awarded to the accused and accusers fairly. Furthermore, the fundamental rights of Americans are also violated in this amendment because most of the defendants are corrupted to support the incriminating remarks towards the accused.
Most Americans do understand better about their local prosecutors and the processes involved in criminal justice. This is because respective prosecutors use power to support what exists in jails and prisons. The American law society also has various laws that are easily accessible by its people through media and other social platforms (ACLU, 2018). This helps the prosecutors to have full information and access to any law acts and amendments based on different perspectives. Alternatively, the Americans are more conversant and versed with local prosecutors since they are allowed to hold negotiating power and plead even if they are innocent. Pleading guilty and yet one is innocent results in poor judgment and wrong trials.
Civil liberties are made of freedom of expression, religion, conscience, and right to security. However, such liberties are diminishing due to poor criminal justice structure, the corruption that is not exposed to the public through media platforms, unlike the laws regulations. Moreover, it is quite disturbing that the lack of fair trial of all crimes and criminal prosecutions leads to negative trial outcomes, which is against the constitution.
The Black Panther Party for Self Defense
Black Panther Party was designed by college students who hailed from Oakland, California. The media and government were accurate about terming the panthers as being terrorists and non-whites, this is because they implemented the use of highly advanced technology to identify and limit their communication capabilities. The government also enforced border security to eradicate illegal immigration and potential terrorists. Such steps help the government to establish if indeed the panthers were either non-whites or promoting terrorism. The government pointed out the need for enactment of Cybersecurity laws that helped to protect public-to-private and private-to-
Private Cyber threat information sharing. These protections help to identify and eliminate the potential terrorists or any unlawful act promoted by the BPP members. The threat that they posed to the status quo was racism and capitalism.
The FBI designed a unique counter-intelligence program known as COINTELPRO. The program aimed at the neutralization of political unrest among the parties, which was a threat to the security of the society (UPROXX Studio, 2018). COINTELPRO discouraged domestic political formations from responding to the BPP’s activism. It maintained the existence of social order by punishing those who tried to interfere with the order. It eliminated the individuals who were at the forefront of challenging the status quo of racism and capitalism in American society. Fred Hampton and Mark Clark were the closest in the formation of the central principles and values of BPP and COINTELPRO (Taylor, 2021). Based on this movement, there is a parallel with today’s political world because both the citizens, politicians, and activists are after getting liberation and equal power rights.
