Peak city church is a big building located at 501 Laura Duncan Road Apex, North Carolina. Their mission is to lead people to new life in Jesus Christ. The church is decorated with white walls and a logo of an apex in it. The building is painted brown from outside and the name embedded in the front with blue colour on a white slate. The building is new and beautiful with the arts of the church’s ministries on the walls. A welcome message is written on the door and often repeated on the big screen projected on the wall.
Their beliefs and values are based on The Bible. They believe that the bible was written by humans guided by the holy spirit to bring forth the word of God to humans in writing. They Are Explicitly Christians with Open Minds asserting that whether you are a person who belongs to their Methodist tradition or not, they look forward to learning from you, as well. They pay attention to the biblical and the vast library of theologians and scholars and reflect on knowledge, motive, and human involvement as they jointly provide a fuller picture of God.
During the new comer’s session at the church, I gathered that they believe that Salvation is not just a moment, but a process, Faith and works go hand-in-hand, Salvation is both personal and social and while we study faith primarily through the bible it is notably worthy to look into your reasoning and personal experiences together with community stans on issues to help you have a clear picture on God. Their doctrines and services are open to the public with no limitations whatsoever as they intend to be all-inclusive regardless of societal bias alienations of people. Everyone is permitted to participate in volunteer works around the church as well as leadership posts and equally partake in the holy sacraments.
The peak city church believes in the trinity citing the existence of God in three forms of the father, son and holy spirit and that the trinity is important in every Christians life as they serve different functions for humans for glory. God is boundless, omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, static, wholly earnest of our faith, and most importantly, Consecrated, we lean on Him for our ultimate survival on earth because he has enriched our lives with love, mercy, compassion and His promises to us are always true. God is good. Jesus Christ is considered to be God’s son who takes up to him completely and he is given a mission to return the lost flock to the shed by helping humans to come more closer to God. He subsisted perfection of life to bring people closer to the precision of Gods worthy demands. He conquered death to give life to humans in His revivification. The Holy Spirit’s is an assurance of love to believers through Christ and truth, exalting and convicting people of their inequities to make them pure and deserving of God’s love.
During their services, a sneak peek of what happened in the previous session is played alongside the activities that happened in the week. I gathered that the church has youth ministry and weekly Wednesday ministries that cover middle school and high school students as an invitation was extended to me. The children ministry started at 10.30 and teaches children stories. They have a mental health ministry that is focused on middle school and high school groups in their midst and their rational and social matters. This was brought to light by the lead pastor when he told the congregants. They are working to eradicate problems to mental well-being, refining the reach of information for the victims of their community. The Apex Outreach Service Project (AOSP) provides the opportunity for youth and adult volunteers to assist the highest by assisting others. They make repairs on the homes of seniors in Apex and surrounding areas. They usually hold activities like paper making(cards), simple gardening, prom shopping, mother reads (teaching the second language), read and feed, Panera bread, Christmas store and others to keep the community socially engaged with one another.
With the current corona pandemic, the Peak church is engaging in outdoor services to minimize the spread of the disease and everyone is encouraged to bring their seats and sit together as a family. Parents are asked to keep their children close to them and not have them mingle so much with others and congregants can also attend the church services from their cars. They also have e-news that briefs its members on the events that are planned by the church. The services at the church are engaging as congregants get to respond to questions asked by the preacher. The preacher also engages them by giving real-life examples around them and demonstrating with props situations that are being talked about. This gives practicality and the engagements make the church alive.
Women and men alike engage in worship services as they use musical instruments to praise the Lord. They sing and pray together. The church engages in fun activities to keep the community together. The church coaches both men and women to participate in various outreach programs with the community.
