Self-reflection and Appreciation of General Lesson Delivery
Appreciation is the ability to express gratefulness, thankfulness and understanding that something is of quality or importance. It may also involve recognizing and expressing enjoyment of the better qualities of someone or something. Appreciation is therefore important sorer in students while learning different courses and subjects in school. It may lead students to develop an interest and the relevance of different subjects they are taught in school. This research paper will highlight the in-depth analysis of the application of appreciation in course works to soothe students to have a broader and deeper perspective of what they’ve been learning during their entire semester.
During the first week of the semester, my understanding of appreciation concentrated on being grateful for getting the learning platform, learning new things, and connecting with other students. The lecturer later changed the general perspective at the end of the coursework. Appreciation currently involves being grateful for the humor created by the lecture that made the lessons more enjoyable. Also, appreciation currently involves being thankful for the skills acquired and the special lesson delivery relevant and relatable in our day-to-day activities. The whole idea of appreciation can also express how the teacher changed our perspective and gave a more profound and broader meaning of the subject. Lastly, its meaning can also come out when expressing gratitude and thankfulness in the activities such as group works and the necessary tools, techniques and decisions that the teacher took to facilitate and make learning more effective and enjoyable.
During lessons involving reading the online textbook Writing Spaces, gratefulness came out on how Bolter compared and contrasted modern-day electronic writing with the old age methods of writing techniques. He brought out the need to appreciate modern-day technology, such as using computers as a medium of writing and the development of literature. Bolter’s idea of refashioning the voice of writing in chapter ten to address a specific reader is worth appreciating. He argues that in the present-day economy, writers must do more, and any printed book must address a specific audience of either an integrated culture or economy (2001).
In preparing my argumentized research paper, acknowledging other researcher’s perspectives ease my work of collecting enough points to support my argument while writing the essay. Appreciation of different perspectives also allowed me to express my points amicably and with a lot of respect to bring a clear understanding and allow the reader to contextualize for themselves. Also, to recognize, give credibility and provide the value of other people’s ideas in my argumentized paper, I appreciated them by citing their texts to show respect. Basing appreciation in TedTalks, the speaker Sinek tackles a topic on discovering ourselves during difficult times like in the outbreak of a pandemic (2021). As a reader, the speaker is quite articulate, and he clearly explains loneliness and depression as some of the critical barriers to achieving our success during the covid pandemics. He also uses simple terms that can be read and interpreted by a majority hence solving the barrier in communication. Also, the writer explains why we need to appreciate the importance of mental health during such a dreadful time. I would appreciate him highlighting the various ways one can employ to evaluate the various causes of depression and lineless during the pandemic. Also, I would appreciate him for taking his time to educate people by speaking through such a reputable program to help those suffering from depression and anxiety. He made them understand that the various remedies such as visiting a therapist, getting enough sleep, exercising daily and eating a well-balanced diet help fight mental health.
As a writer, I would appreciate him for giving creditability and evidence of his work sorer by quoting phrases from famous philosophers and researchers during his interview. I would also give him credit for the clear audio that enhanced effective communication between the speaker and the listeners. Appreciation also goes to him by compiling and availing his speech on the internet so that researchers can further use that as a source of information while handling assignments as human Sinek deserves appreciation when he highlights that we all need each other fight the pandemic. Also, he educates listeners and viewers by highlighting the importance of keeping close relatives and friends in fighting mental pandemics such as depression, anxiety and loneliness. The general concern about relatives and friends brings out the human character in him. He further explains how human beings can compartmentalize their emotions to stay focused on their mission during such a tough time (Sinek 2021).
In my evaluation, I’m grateful for myself because of the efforts and handworks I invested in ensuring I attend all the lessons, finish my assignments on time and even participate in learning activities such as group discussions, simulation and online research. I also take pride in acquiring new knowledge and skills, primarily in writing an essay and even learning the history and the gradual transition of equipment and tools used in writing. I also want to take pride in my general discipline and respect that I showed both my teacher and fellow students to create a conducive learning environment for learning. I would congratulate myself for forming and creating meaningful friends that kept me on my toes to ensure that we both learn and achieve the goal of the coursework. I would also appreciate myself for mobilizing necessary resources such as books, tuition fees, and even laptops to realize success in this coursework. Lastly, Ill appreciate me for keeping healthy mental status so as enhance peaceful learning. In general, appreciation forms the critical success of all relationships. From my experience, appreciating my friends encouraged them to stick and learn great ideas with me during the lessons. It also strengthened our relationship and made them feel better and appreciate their role in my academics.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the research paper gives a broader meaning of appreciation by applying various reflections from the course content. From the text, it’s evident that appreciation majorly comes out after achieving something. In the course work, appreciation helps learners point out relevant skills they have learned throughout the semester. In reading the online book, learners can appreciate the impact of new technology on modern-day writing platforms. Also, in the argumentized research paper, appreciation helps learners respect and credit other people’s opinions while expressing their points. This paper also gives insights into my areas of appreciation, explaining why I’m proud of my achievements in the semester delivery.
